Spend a glorious 10 days with us in the splendor of Portugal and northern Spain as we take on the iconic route to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain, Babcia and YiaYia style! We’ll slowly make our way north from Lisbon and loop back down again, making your experience a simple round trip. So what are the details?

Here’s the plan:

We’ll take on a 10-day loop northward, using a mix of trains, guided transport, and drivers as needed. Each stop will last about two days and will have a variety of interactive and historical activities for you to enjoy.

Day 1-2 Sintra

Touchdown Lisbon! Fly into the south side of town and meet us as we make our way to our first destination, Sintra. Here, we’ll kick things off with a tour of the dreamy Castel Pena and enjoy this little slice of historic Portugal. We’ll settle in for some relaxing beach vibes in the coastal town of Cascais where we can take in the amazing views and food options.

Day 3 Coimbra via Fatima

On our way north, we will continue to Our Lady of Fatima for a few hours before planting our feet in the Oxford of Portugal, called Coimbra. Here, we’ll get the chance to see the stunning library on campus and enjoy this historical location complete with all the bells and whistles! The gorgeous riverside neighborhoods are full of charming stops that bring this entire area to life.

Day 4-5: Vigo and Santiago de Campostela

Halfway through, we’ll pop up to the small town of Vigo in Spain. This will be our home base as we prepare to visit the Basilica of Santiago de Compostela. We’ll take the train up and walk through the gates with pilgrims who have taken on the life-changing experience of walking the full Camino. If you’d like to take on the last steps and walk a little of the official Camino, we’ll arrange for you to start early and ensure we meet up to enjoy the Basilica and the surrounding area before heading back down toward Vigo. This will be our longest day.

Day 6-7-8 Porto

It’s time to head back south, and our next port of call is Porto! This workaday city has become a new heartbeat in travel and has much to offer as we enjoy a true slice of Portuguese life. From incredible restaurants to a rich river culture, Porto offers a whole new look at this part of Europe!

Day 9-10 Lisbon

We’re back to the start of our journey, and we’ve saved some of the best for last! Lisbon offers three amazing neighborhoods that showcase this vibrant culture. From Belém’s historical monuments to Baixa’s twisting, trolley-riding streets, Lisbon brings the Portuguese experience together for a wonderful send-off! We’ll be settling into the Belem neighborhood and enjoy many of the amazing icons that Lisbon is very famous for. From the Monument of Discovery to the cloister at
