Probably the best kept secret in Europe, Poland offers a variety of experiences for every traveler. From lazy beach time to cosmopolitan shopping in historic city centers, Poland does not disappoint! We’ll take in castles and museums, learn and pay our respects to Poland’s historical past, and breathe in the great outdoors! Get ready, get set, Poland is waiting for you!

Here’s the plan!

As we touch down, our fun begins! We’ll start toward the west in Wroclaw modern Poland intersects with ancient times. Wroclaw will give us the chance to visit the little town of Boleslawiec where polish pottery is made. After, we’ll base our time in historic Krakow and enjoy Poland’s capital of culture. From this homebase, we’ll take time to enjoy the Tatras mountains and more! So you’re interested, right? Here’s a day by day breakdown!

Day 1

Touchdown Wroclaw! We’ll kick off our tour by settling in to Wroclaw for our first evening. Here, we’ll shake off that jet lag and enjoy dinner together at one of the many lovely restaurants close to our hotel so we can quickly get to that good night’s sleep.

Day 2

The small town of Boleslawiec is known the world over for it’s beautiful pottery full of lovely patterns in every shade imaginable. We’ll take a tour of this historic facility and then give pottery painting a try for ourselves! We’ll wrap up our time here with a little shopping and lunch before heading back to Wroclaw for the evening.

Day 3

We’ll start our day by visiting the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Church of Peace. This particular church is a masterpiece in art and architecture and represents everything that the Polish want you to know about how they feel. After lunch, we’ll make our way to our next destination. We’ll settle in to our hotel on the main square and then enjoy the ambiance and energy that makes Krakow so special.

Day 4

We’ll take some time in the morning to orient ourselves to this amazing city with a photography walk. Then, we’ll wrap up the day with an amazing food tour that will introduce us to all kinds of amazing foods that can be found on any menu.

Day 5

Today, we’ll kick things off with a lunchtime pierogi making class that will fill us up with more than we could ever imagine! Wear loose clothes! Then, we’ll spend the rest of the day enjoying the city and all it has to offer. Get ready to browse and shop!

Day 6: Choose your own adventure!

Krakow continues to enchant and today, we’ll spend the morning at the amazing castle overlooking the river. Wawel Hill has so much to explore and we’ll see how it has found its place in Poland’s history over the centuries.

OR

Follow in the steps of hometown hero Saint John Paul II. Visit the Archdiocese Museum, the Jagiellon University, as well as the modern Shrine to the saint just in the suburbs of town.

We’ll spend the rest of the day enjoying the historic old town and have dinner overlooking the main square just steps from our hotel.

Day 7: Choose your own adventure!

We’ll venture out of the city today and make our way to the Unesco World Heritage Site, the Wieliscka Salt Mine and get a good look at medieval Poland and how salt became such an important commodity in this region. After lunch, we’ll pay our respects at the Auschwitz Memorial as we tour the Nazi concentration camp.

Head toward Jasna Gora Monastery where the famous Black Madonna known as Our Lady of Czestochowa holds court. This pilgramage site is known the world over as one of the most important icons in Christianity.

Back in town, we’ll relax after a long day at one of the many beautiful cafes that dot the main square.

Day 8: Choose your own adventure!

We’ll start our day at the Schindler Factory as we learn about the Summer of 1939. Then, continue understanding the story of the Jewish Ghetto by visiting the Pharmacy Under The Eagle.

OR

Spend time in the Kazimierz District touring some of the historic synagogues and museums that dot the area. These include the Ethnographic Museum, the Old Synagogue, and the Ariel Bookstore among many other choices.

For dinner, we’ll round out the day at Klezmer Huis so we can experience the amazing music and food.

Day 9: Choose your own adventure!

Today, we are on our way south to the Tatras Mountains where the Vistula River is replaced by many other bodies of water including the Dunajec River. Here, we’ll take in the lovely scenery as we paddle in rafts down the river. Breathe a sigh of relief because the rafting course is just the right speed for any level of fitness.

OR

Start your day by heading right to the resort town of Zakopane. Enjoy free time to shop and peruse the amazing pedestrian area and then take a ride on the mountainside vernacular for wonderful panoramic views.

Either choice, our group will meet up for a very late lunch then head back to the city center.

Day 10

On the agenda today is Krakow’s Czartoryski Museum where the great masters await us. This museum holds many stories that speak to the fascinating history of Poland and we’ll share them with you as we walk through this amazing palace. In the afternoon, anyone who wants to explore the many beautiful churches of the city is invited on our signature Church Crawl! We’ll end the day with our farewell dinner and prepare to say farewell.

Day 11

Touchdown Vienna! There, we’ll get ourselves settled and enjoy the sites and sounds of this treasure. There’s nothing on the agenda except a great walk through an incredible city center. Interested in something in particular? We’ve got you covered, we’re taking requests all day long and we’ll be happy to help you out. We’ll have dinner tonight in one of the most iconic restaurants around

Day 12

We’ll round out our European adventure here in Vienna with a tour of the amazing Sissi’s Palace. After a little bit of time to enjoy the stunning city center before we leave for our final destination. All aboard! We’ll use the amazing euro train system to travel in style to Austria’s cultural capital of Salzburg. In just a few hours, we will be breathing in the mountain air and solving all of Maria’s problems in amazing and enchanting Salzburg.

Day 13 and 14

Salzburg is full of choose your own adventure moments. Want to check out the Cathedral where Julie Andrews married the Captain? Check. Interested in looking around the medieval fortress? No problem. Want to shop for a million different Christmas ornaments. Easy peasy. We’ll send you in the right direction for whatever is on your mind. Then we’ll come together for one last Euro style dinner to say farewell to Vienna and all of you!
