Day 1: CDG to Rouen

Touchdown Paris! Arrive at CDG and meet our ground team who will get you settled and to our first destination, Rouen. We’ll be using the quickest and most comfortable mode of transport, the train! Sit back and relax and the French scenery pass by before a short, private transport to our city center lodgings.

Day 2: Rouen

Rouen is our launching point as we explore this historical region of France. From the Battles of 1066 to the liberation of 1944, Rouen serves as a perfectly central location to not only reflect on our own history but also to enjoy the French hospitality that has become so very famous here.

Day 3: Bayeux via Caen

Caen is on the agenda today and we will be visiting the world famous WWII Peace Memorial. This museum walks the visitor through the different stages of WWII and its aftermath. This state of the art museum immerses you in the story of heroes and tragedy and pauses to remember the ultimate cost of such horrible circumstances. We’ll wrap up our day by settling in to our next home base, Bayeaux.

Days 4, 5 and 6: June 1944

Welcome to Bayeux! Our base camp to explore the beaches of Normandy. We’ll not only have expert guides to share the beaches but we’ll also enjoy this treasure of a town and perhaps reflect on another invasion, the one from 1066! We’ll make Bayeux our home away from home as we start our day with our first look at the shores of Normandy at Point Du Hoc. Ground zero for the first wave of invasion, this is where the story of the turn in the war begins. We’ll finish out our time in Bayeaux by paying our respects at the American Cemetery and checking in at a few of the many historic beaches that tell the story of the great invasion.

Days 7 and 8: Magical Monet

Immerse yourself into Claude Monet’s French oasis. Monet spent his later years here in the countryside of Normandy and tended to this idyllic home and adjoining gardens. Today, the historic landmark is a perfect Summer stroll and the adjoining museum in the small village just steps away enlightens and inspires no matter how much of an art junkie you are.
