In partnership with our amazing friends at Southern Maryland Kitchen, Bath, Floors, and Designs, we are proud to offer this bespoke holiday experience in the heart of Italy. Spend a glorious 10 days with us in the splendor of Central and Northern Italy in true Babcia and YiaYia style! We’ll slowly make our way South from Milano to Florence, making your experience a thorough dive into all this region has to offer. So what are the details?
Here’s the plan:
Take a moment to look over this perfect itinerary that most Americans never get a a chance to experience. Offered only to SOMD Kitchen, Bath, Floors and Designs clients, get ready to enjoy Italy like never before. We will touchdown in Milano on May 20th and depart from Florence on May 30th. The total cost of this experience is $9,000 per person based on double occupancy. Single supplements may be available upon request but are not guaranteed. This travel experience is available to only 10 travelers.
Days 1-2
Welcome to Milano and the Lombardy region of Northern Italy! We’ll start with our feet on the ground in Milano where we’ll shake off our jet lag with a small walking tour of the city including a stop at the world famous Duomo, The Last Supper, and the stunning Vittorio Emanuele Galleria. Then sit back, relax, and take in the scenery as we head south to the Pavia region and the amazing agriturismo called Borgo Santuletta.
We’ll spend two nights enjoying the laid back ambiance of this incredible, laid back, hilltop destination. With gourmet casalinga, a superb wine list, and poolside views that can’t disappoint, this rare gem is the perfect launch to an Italian adventure like no other.
Days 3-6
We are headed south toward our next amazing agriturismo located in the Liguria region. Sarzana is a classic small town, hilltop experience with stunning sunset views and we will enjoy a welcome lunch with wine, followed by a guided tour of the castle and a chandelier dinner. We will continue on to Forte dei Marmi & Pietrasanta for a morning visit to its famous street market. In the afternoon, enjoy a cooking class in Pietrasanta and spend the night at a charming agriturismo.
We will continue with several marquis experiences that embody the Ligurian-Tuscan region including: an Olive Oil Experience & Farm‑to‑Table Immersion. In the morning, enjoy an extra‑virgin olive oil tasting with a guided tour and lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Podere for a full farm‑to‑table immersion, including a cooking class and wine tasting, followed by a countryside dinner. Stay at the Podere.
Days 7 and 8
We’ll wind up our time in Liguria with an overnight stay at Piagnaro Castle, Wine & Golden Hour. Visit the Piagnaro Castle to learn about the ancient “People of the Moon.” Continue with a wine tasting at the renowned Ca’ Lunae Winery. In the afternoon, relax at the Relais SPA and end the day with a Golden Hour dinner followed by an overnight stay in Lerici.Our experience will also include a little dedicated and rejuvenating SPA experience in Cortona, a beautiful medieval town. Afternoon visit to the breathtaking landscapes of the Crete Senesi.
Day 9
Rounding out our Tuscan time, we’ll head to the Mugello area to partake in one of the oldest culinary traditions in the region. We’ll meet up with Gina and her colleagues who happen to be the best tour guides in Tuscany, for a try at Truffle Hunting and cooking class followed by lunch that we’ve prepared with our own hands! We’ll round out our time in Tuscany with one last evening in gorgeous and iconic Florence for our signature goodbye dinner before everyone takes off in the morning. Not ready to leave just yet?
